Pokemon Go Game Review

Original Content: IHQ Reviews

Niantic and The Pokémon Company developed and published the Pokémon Go Mobile Reality Game (AR) 2016 in conjunction with Nintendo on iOS and Android smartphones. It is a result of the Pokémon series partnerships of Niantic, Nintendo, and The Pokémon Company. It uses mobile devices with GPS to track, catch and combat virtual animals known as Pokémon in the user’s current world. It uses a freemium business model coupled with local advertising to deliver in-app purchases for additional gaming products. The game is free of charge.

Critics welcomed the concept but were critical of technical flaws. Pokémon Go was released to mixed reviews. In 2016, it was one of the most widely used and profitable smartphone apps, which by year’s end was downloaded worldwide over 500 million times. It has been acknowledged that local and IT technologies popularise, promote physical activity, and help local companies develop as foot traffic is increasing. However, there was a dispute over how accidents and public annoyance could contribute. Several governments have highlighted security concerns, and certain countries are regulating their use. By May 2018, the game had more than 147 million active users a month.
