In all fairness, the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is a curtain-raiser for celebrating the festivities on Disney Plus during the weekends. November 25 was the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special release date for the super-hero team’s return to mark the conclusion of the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The craftiness of director James Gunn can weave magic again as we are about to witness a Christmas Classic with the release of the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is All About Innocent Fun
The television film primarily centers on Drax the Destroyer and Mantis, with other characters like Peter Quill, Nebula, Groot, and Rocket by their side. The Guardians induct Cosmo as a new member and start re-building Knowhere after purchasing it from the Collector. With Christmas approaching, Kraglin Obfonteri narrates to the Guardians the story about Yondu Udonta ruining Peter Quill’s childhood Christmas party. Mantis consults Drax about finding the perfect Christmas gift for Quill to help him recover from the depression from Gamora going away. She also reveals to Drax that she is Quill’s half-sister as both have the same father but refrains from disclosing it to Quill, fearing that it would remind him of his father’s misdeeds. Finally, they agree to make a trip to Earth and find out about Kevin Bacon, Quill’s childhood hero.
